Our satisfied clients include public and private organizations, for example Coca-Cola, ExxonMobil, Fujifilm, tertiary institutions, MOE schools and healthcare organizations.
Every organization has its own data sanitization and internal compliance needs. Databyte Solution works with each client and partner to set the best practices and processes for their needs, while keeping the data sanitization process secure and auditable.
Government agencies and financial institutions
Government agencies' information systems usually hold the most valuable information for malicious parties, as the data is often classified and not for public access. Agencies such as defence forces, healthcare organizations and economic agencies can hold highly sensitive information that must never leave organizational control. They usually require onsite destruction of storage media, performed by in-house staff or by trusted third-party vendors such as Databyte Solution.
Financial institutions are deeply intertwined with the economy, and financial information such as bank account details and statements is extremely sensitive and valuable. All financial institutions should at least purge or destroy their storage media at the end of its useful life.
Multinational companies
Large multinational companies often hold large amounts of corporate information: financial information, employee data, commercial contracts, and sensitive supplier and pricing information. If breached, it could damage these companies and their business partners in the hands of competitors or malicious parties.
Small and medium businesses
SMEs make up most businesses in most economies, but they are also the most vulnerable to data breaches, as they usually have limited IT resources for data security. That does not remove the need to dispose of used storage media and IT equipment securely. With lower volumes of media, SMEs usually send their storage media offsite for sanitization.
Other organizations
Databyte Solution serves organizations of all sizes, private and public.
Every organization should, at a minimum, zero-overwrite or Secure Erase the storage in devices leaving its control. Single-pass overwriting with zeros, ATA / SCSI / NVMe Secure Erase and Cryptographic Erase all protect data before storage media is disposed of.
Organizations can also educate staff on cyber security and put simple controls in place: user access controls, timely software updates and patching, scheduled backups, strong passwords, two-factor authentication and drive encryption, among many other measures.
