Organizations need to classify the information in their custody accurately. NIST SP 800-88 Rev 1 classifies information as low, moderate or high security, but does not define which information belongs in which category. That decision is left to each organization, and Databyte Solution can help, with reference to NIST SP 800-60 Vol 1 Rev 1.
When deciding which security level describes your information, think about its value, its confidentiality and the consequences of losing it. Your clients' names and home addresses may not seem "high security" to you, but they may be to your clients, employees or other stakeholders.
Profiling and documentation

Evidence and logs
Log sheets, software erasure logs and photo or video documentation are timestamped for full accountability and traceability.
Verification
All processes are verified with secondary checks, including sampling individual storage media for data, and photo or video logs of the destruction process or outcome.
Certification
When the work is complete, Databyte Solution issues a certificate of data sanitization.
It lists the serial number, model or part number and storage type of each medium, with software erasure logs and photo or video evidence of destruction. The full evidence trail satisfies internal audit requirements.
